“Sea Dragon” is a piece I made for a small show I held at Books With Pictures Eugene . The theme of the show was “Monsters and Creatures” so of course I had to make my favorite creature of them all: a sea dragon.

This dragon is made of cardstock that is all freehand cut by me using detail and x-acto blades. To create depth in the framed piece I made a “stenciled” layer of scales to overlay the body. This adds color but also makes shadows that can simulate depth.
