“Grendel’s Mother” is my interpretation of how the mother of Grendel from Beowulf came to be. We are never given her name or her origin.

In my mind she was a vengeful spirit who arose from a woman killed as a bog sacrifice. Blood and water are important elements in Beowulf, and I thought that they would be abundant in the birth of this mother of monsters.
